Quarteira is within easy reach of several championship golf courses,
including the Old Course at Vilamoura and the Royal
Course at Vale do Lobo. It is a magnificent place to relax in
the sun with is sandy beaches.
A perfect family holiday resort, with numerous excursions departing
from hotels to holiday attractions across the Algarve. Quarteira's
beach runs all the way down the coast almost to Faro, so there's
plenty of space for all. Located next door to the famous resort
of Vilamoura, Quarteira has grown since the 1960s from a small
fishing village to a major tourist location.
Reasonably close to Quarteira is the inland town of Almancil that
is also a centre for service companies. Along with the beach, the
principle attraction is its lengthy promenade, bordered by rustling
palms, bright flowering hibiscus and the white and pink of the oleander.
Once a simple fishing village, it has now become a cosmopolitan
tourist center in the last decades, due mainly to the fact that
thousands of visitors travel to this wonderful city every year.

The Hotel Dom Jose is a welcoming hotel in the heart of the lively
beach resort with all the amenities within walking distance. The
largest concentration of quality hotels and restaurants is not in
Quarteira or even Praia de Quarteira, but in the satellite of Vilamoura,
west of Quarteira.

The neigbouring resort of Vilamoura offers a change of scenery
where there is a weekly market. Quarteira is within easy reach of

Vilamoura (both of which have 18-hole courses) can stay inexpensively

comfortable hotel located only 2km from the long sandy beaches and
regional markets of Quarteira, not far from various golf courses
like Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago and Vila Sol.
