Reasonably close to Quarteira is the inland town of Almancil that is also a centre for service companies. Along with the beach, the principle attraction is its lengthy promenade, bordered by rustling palms, bright flowering hibiscus and the white and pink of the oleander. Once a simple fishing village, it has now become a cosmopolitan tourist center in the last decades, due mainly to the fact that thousands of visitors travel to this wonderful city every year.

Pinhal Do Sol is a modern and comfortable hotel located only 2km from the long sandy beaches and regional markets of Quarteira, not far from various golf courses like Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago and Vila Sol.
